google: android 16

Blending technology, creativity, and large-scale fabrication, the Android 16 sculpture was created as an interactive installation inspired by Google's Material 3 Expressive design language. The project transformed the familiar Android mascot into a playful carousel that celebrated innovation and collaboration.

My contributions included assembling the Android figure, welding portions of the internal framework, and helping bend and shape the metal components that gave the sculpture its distinctive form. Watching standard structural materials evolve into a functional, interactive experience was one of the most rewarding aspects of the build.

Developed through a collaboration between Google's Android team, Gemini AI, and the fabrication team at Smash Designs, the finished installation reflects the playful spirit and imagination that continue to define the Android brand.
