Few mascots are as recognizable as Smokey, making this University of Tennessee sculpture an especially rewarding project to contribute to during my time at Smash Designs. Created to celebrate the university's beloved mascot, the piece was designed to capture Smokey's loyal expression, distinctive appearance, and deep connection to Tennessee tradition.

My primary contribution was sculpting Smokey's form and facial features, focusing on creating an expressive likeness that reflected the mascot's personality and presence. Particular attention was given to the stance, proportions, and signature vest to ensure the sculpture remained instantly recognizable while translating the character into a large-scale three-dimensional form.

Finished with a stone-inspired texture, the final sculpture was designed to feel both timeless and enduring. Being entrusted with the sculptural development of such an iconic mascot was a memorable experience and one of the projects I am most proud to have contributed to at Smash Designs.
