Cougar Cooker

Created for the 2025 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Cook-Off, the Houston Cougar Cookers sign was a project that combined structural fabrication, sculptural detailing, and larger-than-life Texas personality. Fabricated at Smash Designs, the piece featured a custom rock wall base and an imposing cougar designed to command attention.

One of my primary contributions was welding the internal steel frame that formed the foundation of the cougar. Watching the sculpture grow from raw metal into a fully realized centerpiece was one of the most rewarding parts of the build. I also contributed to the hand-sculpted rock textures and finishing details that helped bring the entire installation together.

Seeing the completed sign become a standout attraction at one of Houston's most celebrated annual events made this project especially memorable and a highlight of my time at Smash Designs.
